This class is for mommy-to-be and currently nursing mommies. Our goal is to provide some tools to help you succeed as a breastfeeding mom. If you are interested in breastfeeding, concerned about milk supply or baby's latch, or have questions about pumping or breastfeeding in general, this class is for you. *Nursing Babies are welcome! Feel free to bring baby to the class!*Our breastfeeding class will be taught by Sherri Hedberg. Sherri is an RN and also an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.) She was a volunteer La Leche League Leader for 12 years. She first certifiedIBCLC in 1995. Sherri has also worked with the TN WIC Program as a Breastfeeding Coordinator. Currently she is the administrator for The Breastfeeding Centerat Lisa Ross Birthing Center in Knoxville.

This class will be taught by a host of professionals whocan give expectant moms and experienced veterans advice and information on all natural birthing options, from homebirths to hospital births and a few in between. We plan to have a Nurse Midwife from Lisa Ross Birthing Center, Home Birth Midwife, A Doula and A Nurse Practioner with Birthing Center and Hospital Delivery Experience.In addition, we will have mothers with natural birth experiences share their birth stories. Our goal is to teach moms that there are many safe ways to bring a baby into the world, and that birth can be an empowering experience for women.
